Course was not short, the makers were just in the wrong place. The last "0.21" was short, but "mile" 5 was long. The 5 mile marker should have been at the 180 turn at the end of the long straitaway, and the 6 mile mark should have been right at the bottom of the hill. You can even see this if you look on the course map on the USATF website.
Reading comprehension 101: "first of all, don't worry about it" pretty sure I made that clear witht he first sentence, but you must have missed that. now get back in class, you still have one week before elementary school lets out.

A more important question is what was wrong with that douche-bag bouncer who kicked everybody out of the lounge area at Whiskey River? If any of you are the guy he punched just for dancing, I saw the whole thing go down and will give a statement if you want to file an assault suit against him.
The 5 mile in the wrong spot hurt me till now i thought i slowed way way down that 4-5 mile.I told my coach sunday it must have been in the wrong spot.I today i see it was.I was running even and when i saw the 5 mile i was like man i died but later i saw the finsh and was like what thats it no way i must have picked up on the slowest part of the course. What ?Glad to find out what i knew the 5 mile was long.
it was right all miles were except the 4-5.It were long.

USATF just wants similar tops on people because while in theory everyone should race just as hard no matter who is in front of you, we all know that in XC if you see a rival singlet in front of you, you race harder to try to beat them because of the scoring opportunities.
...
Exactly! DQ for not wearing similar jerseys. And that BS flourescent green singlet that the Brooks guys wear is flagrant violation of the spirit of team uniforms. If you sign on with Brooks to wear that singlet then you oughtta run with your other Team Brooks members.

Brooks is a corporate sponsor, not a club. You, theoretically, could start a Brooks Club, but the same rules about residency apply.
I don't have a problem with the bright yellow BROOKS jerseys, but it would be nice if they made an effort to identify their club on the jerseys as well... an effort beyond pinning some paper on their backs or whatever.
Those jerseys won't be legal for the Olympic Trials, so they'll have to come up with a new design between now and then anyway.

Ahhhh.....this is the juicy nugget we minions await. Start a new thread with this?
wearing a different color is irrelevant if you have the same team name visible on your shirt. anyway, this is not the most important thing about the races. the most important thing is that they are among the deepest xc races held in the U.S. at each level.
I saw my split at mile 5 and thought the same thing because I thought I slowed too. The better question becomes... How come USATF can't put the mile markers in the right spot for one of their biggest XC races of the year? You'd think it be high priority to make sure the course is properly marked in real life and not on just a piece of paper. USATF needs to get its shit together.
Crazy idea!
It's a race. I didn't know the mile splits were off... because I didn't race with a watch!
Well, maybe they ought not put the mile markers on the course. That way we'd be forced to run by feel. I was clearly distracted by these unnecessary items that skewed my brain.
After further careful thought, since it's just a race, they should have not ran the clock at all. They should have only counted places since time is irrelevant.
Sidenote: One of the women on my team thought it was hilarious that a ton of guys were apparently taking splits on their watch at the 6 mile mark, near where she was watching at.
Well if you know how to race effectively, you wouldn't need the watch for a good time. Just saying.

What is the post meet party like, and has anyone been tasered yet?
post-meet party...no tasering that i saw, but...i did meet one guy from team indiana elite..he was cooler than the other guys who hit on me, so i vote no disqualification for said uniform violation.
you mean checking or hitting the watch.Because i also looked down and just to see what it said.As for the 5 mile split i for a fact knew it was long as i past it i was like this has got to be off.It might have been 20-30 sec or more but it does mess with your mind as i was passing up people also i was running even 530s then hit that split and was like no way .It jind of through me off the last mile thats why i checked 6 mile split. We all race other runners but use the clock cc road or track to pace the run in some way.
I tell my runners to be skeptical of any splits. I say don't trust your race to a volunteer to whom some other volunteer said, "Stand over there." I say the splits are there just for your entertainment.
Trust no one.

Would running behind a rabbit make you run any faster?
It shouldn't.
Of course it does. Same with the uniform. It's also an emotional sport and look at it from a spectator's perspective. It'll charge up the fans to see a runner approaching a rival team.
So you are telling me that you give less than your best effort most of the time?
You can run behind a rabbit and have them break the wind resistence which will give you an advantage. That has nothing to do with how much effort you put into each race.
