Something I've wondered about for a very long time. It seems that when I am training for a long period of time in terms of months at high volume, high intensity or both, I find that at some point that generally speaking, my runs, including easy runs are a soaking, drenching, all and all an outright unpleasant affair.
The textbooks describe "over training" in terms of physical or mental degradations. What I haven't found however, at least at much length or detail is how over training effects perspiration rate during training, or even post training.
I notice and have consistently for years is that when I'm tapped of energy, I sweat to the point that not only does a jog make my shorts and shirt drenched, I will continue to sweat for an hour or greater post run. This given moderate temperatures.
Even a slight exertion, or mild stress related to daily activity makes me sweat much easier than I would given I'm not overtrained.
So first, any leads, references or personal experiences about this would be greatly appreciated.
Second, given that "overtraining" is characterized as being insidious and hard to diagnose, I wonder if one could stay aware of one's own sweat rate as a possible method to detect early when one's training is out of balance.
