I have noticed lately that the people in my life that do the least physical activity are enduring a lot of serious injuries. These are people that take the elevator to the second floor and don't exercise, ever. Just in my small office, we have:
1) Torn rotator cuff (surgery, PT)
2) Torn ACL (surgery, PT)
3) Knee surgery (young person, PT)
4) Serious ankle surgery (PT)
5) Broken collarbone (PT)
6) Broken wrist (PT)
It's hard to keep track of all of their PT appointments. Meanwhile, those of us that have active lifestyles are injury free (I don't count my minor IT band issues as an injury, to be fair).
Is this just a meaningless anecdotal experience, or do inactive people have a grave injury risk whenever they do anything athletic?
