Yeah the cooldown article was perfectly reasonable. There is no reason to cool down with a 15-20 minute jog other than to get more minutes of running. You can jog for 2 minutes or even just do anything except sit down and you'll be fine.

If the NYT wants to stake its reputation on high standards, then they should be able to meet those standards. Can't blame anyone for calling them out.
As for those temperature links about the marathon trials, they don't really prove anything. So the truth is that those two places have pretty similar weather during those times of the year. Rojo even said about Chicago "in decent temperatures," so he qualified it. The only thing that would put this on par with the NYT is if Rojo were to now rewrite that article because of how hot Chicago was this year. And clearly he hasn't done that.
