I have seen other posts..did not feel like ruining someone elses thread. Here's my situation. I ran the Chicago Marathon this past fall. Leading up to that race I was having on/off groin-hip pain..nothing major. Chicago was my last competitive race of 2010 then my goal was to take 2-3 weeks off, but due to this mystery injury it ended up being 6weeks with 3light runs thrown in.
I don't have a local doctor so I called the hospital described my symptoms ended up going to the ER! Outside of all the waiting I ended up getting blood-work done, ctscan was sent home with a doc believing it was a groin-strain?
My thoughts were ok! No lifting (don't do much anyhow), ice, go on how you feel! So I left the ER that night scratching my head. I then called a local sports-med athletic trainer and from there it went to a 2nd opinion Sports Med Dr. She did 3 strength tests. 1. From the lying down position reach for her hand..failed limited abdominal strength. 2. She had me do a squat jump..ok except for the leaning over towards the ground. 3. Side-to-side leg movement..failed some pain left side. She then referrred me to take a 3-bone scan 2-step procedure. Basically a scan, fluid injection longer scan. 3days later they called "negative" on a stress fracture on pubis-bone area.
Now here's the advice is truely needed. I have done all the tests. I'm doing some rehab through my chiropractor began running again. Different day same-result! It hurts most getting out of bed in the morning?still. It also bothers me slight pain during running. It feels as if a rubber band from my groin-region is being locked and held on one end. My ROM just isn't right? I know I can run, but is it possible it's soft tissue that's just incredibly weak? I have had hip issues..but on the right side. My orders now are hamstring, hip stretches and foam roller before and after running. It has seemed to help, but it feels as if I'm going in circles with much progression.
Thanks I'm open for advice.
