Global Warming refers to a general trend towards higher average temperatures that has been occurring for about a century now. It does not mean the elimination of all cold days forever, but warmer average temperatures worldwide by no more than a few degrees.

There was a hotter than normal period from the late 30s to the mid forties which could indicate a slight decline in global average temperatures in the 1940-1975 period.
However the data from 1880-2010 blows any theory of the world cooling completely.
