5k Race Shoe Decision

    I currently have a pair of Victories and Victory XC's. I used the Victories for the steeplechase last year and I purchased Victory XC's for this past cross country season. Now with indoor track approaching I don't know what shoes I want to race in. I am going to be focusing on the 5k with my goal time being sub 14:40. I am afraid the Victories are too aggressive and I could get injured, but I feel like the XC"s are way more support than I need for the track. I am thinking about getting a pair of Matumbos but I don't know if I'm over thinking this entire process. I would appreciate any advice someone can provide.

    Assuming you can only go with Nike, go with the Matumbos for 3000m and up. If you can choose others, maybe try the Adidas Adizero Cadence, or Saucony Endorphin LD, heck even the Asics Hyperspeed LD's do the trick. I like all of these because they are more relaxed and comfortable for the longer races.

    If you happen to run the 1500m at times, then the vic's are perfect. Asics, Saucony, and Adidas also have great middle distance spikes. I love the Adizero MD's because the upper is a stretchy leather material and your feet fit snug in them.

    But, if all you can use is Nike, then this equality might help:

    Victories<3000m
