I'm thinking that it would be generally inversely correlated to distance. Thus the sprinters get the most, mid-distance next, and so on. Except there would be a blip in the chart--just following the mid-distance guys (say 800M) would come the marathoners. That's because everybody knows and understands, at least superficially, the marathon. If you tell a girl you just one such & such marathon, she is going to be impressed. 10K, not so much.
To sum up:
1) sprinters
2) mid distance (800M, miler, etc)
3) marathoners
4) 5K
5) 10K
...and so on
