This thread was inspired on the occasion of Gharib's recent Fukuoka win, but I think a lot of people forget how good this guy is. 2 WC wins, Olympic silver to Wanjiru in Beijing (running 2:07 in those very non ideal conditions), and a 2:05 PR. It also needs to be pointed out that he didn't start running till 22 or 23 and has relatively modest track PR's for a marathoner of his caliber, 13:19 for 5k and 27:30 for 10k. This guy needs some credit when its due, and is easily one of the top 5 marathoners of all time in my book. Anyone else here agree?
