Hey!
I ran a crappy indoor race and I am just wondering what you guys think on this. I have never raced 5 k before and ran it today on my own. The meet was very small so I was on my own from the gun.
Splits;
1k: 2,50
1 mile; 4.36
3k; 8.50
5k; 14.59
I did the following workout last monday which might show something;
6*1600m w. 2 min recovery. Times; 4.48 , 4.43 , 4.45 , 4.46 , 4.42 , 4.39
How does this look? Should I not be capable of running a little faster than 14.59? It was hard to pace myself because I won by 35 seconds, and I know I went out too fast, but I was hoping for low 14.40's. I think that's where I should be. For those of you who are familiar with VCP, I ran 25.25 there a couple of weeks ago.
Based of from this information, should I be able to run faster?
