go to 1:20 and listen to what he says, he calls his team untalented. that is embarrassing im sure he didnt mean it but he should really be careful about what he says.

The truth slips out. Of course they are untalented, they're at NXN as a "team," if you're not at Footlocker as an individual then you're nothing on the national level.
Actually its ~1:39 he says that.
And they might not be the most talented, but almost all of them are very good, and can at least handle the 70-80 mpw in season and 80-90 in the summer. A lot of guys cant handle that.
Yeah, cause you can pick 5 guys going to one school who have run under 15 for the 5k. All in the same season.

yes, obviously we all know that. so why did he have to say in the interview that his teammates are untalented? people look up to ammar as a leader and an amazing runner, so to hear him say that about his own teammates really makes me lose respect for this guy.
they just won nationals, they are pretty talented and one would think that if you were a part of that team that it wouldnt slip your mind that one of them was untalented

It is at 1:39, but it tought where you're giving interviews for the first time. I bet he meant to say talanted.
He states that some of the guys get injured and come back stronger than ever.
I was looking up 2009 Cali state meet results and Arcadia number three man was Eric Garibay, 15:53 at Woodard Park. At the begining of this season I could not find his name in any of the results.
When I looked at he Mt Sac result I saw Eric Garibay's name in 1st place in the JV division.
Today at NXN Eric Garibay was the national champions number 2 man. He beat 3 runners that were 15:02 or faster at Woodward Park. Not bad for a kid that was hurt, stuck in there and ran a great race.
I'm sure he meant talented, because you must have some talent to run 15:34 or better at Woodward Park, Arcadia had 5 at the state meet.
Concrats: ARCADIA!!!!!!!!!!
If you didn't know, Ammar's relation with the team is pretty rough. Gonzalez (the usual #2) and him pretty much hated each other though they "occasionally" speak now.
Way to go Arcadia! What a season! TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves Magnificence!
it sounded like he said "a lot of" but mumbled and really fast.
or he could have meant "untalented" as in guys who werent quite there but are now working hard.
most definitely he said "a lot of"
dont create controversy out of nothing

Really then why does Ammar state durning his state meet interviews that Gonzalez had more talent then he does.
If you hate a guy you would never say that.
That's his way of insulting Gonzalez by stating that he works way harder than him, thereby making up for so-called inferior genetics. I've heard that Ammar's relationship with the rest of the team is pretty rocky too.
Here are some facts for you. Arcadia has never had more than 1 kid per class that ran under 525 for the mile in 8th grade or before joining the team. They, not Ammar, use the talent concept in a way to pump themselves up actually... Whether or not they are any more or less talented than their competitors, they try to give themselves and edge and confidence by saying to each other were not the most talented bunch but that doesn't matter because we can compete anyways.
Everyone who follows California HS running knows that Arcadia has been beating the crap out everyone even at the highest level (Division I) consistently for years. They work harder than just about any high school team and train in non ideal conditions, particularly during the summer (Arcadia gets up to 100 easily during the summer months). Their consistency has been almost unparalleled among high school programs. Congrats Arcadia, this championship was years in the making
And by 100 I am referring to 100 degrees, not miles
