BAAAAAAHHHHAAAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Hey ROJO or whoever conducts the front page .... he already ran the 2010 boston marathon. I wonder if he will run the 2011 Boston Marathon?
I predict that Hall will run 2:08:41 and come in 4th in the 2010 Boston Marathon. You heard it hear first...
Ooooops. "here"

That's a lot of marathons - I understand he needs to make some money and the trials and games don't pay, but sheesh - can Hall make 3 good marathon efforts in 16 months?
When Kjell-Erik Ståhl came 4th in the ´83 World Champ marathon in 2.10 he had already run 5 marathons that year - all sub-2,15.
I'm surprised nobody has taken issue with "one of the best distance runners of all time"
You understand incorrectly. The trial victory gave him a nice pay day, more than you make at the grocery store all year.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. Hope you are forgiven.
Good luck to Hall hope he kicks ass and wins the thing.
Jared will run Boston and beat Hall, you'll see.
Take issue...why would they?
At age 25, on a fairly warm day, Mr. Hall ran 2:06:17. How many runners have done that at that age, American or not? Sure others have, but he's still ONE of the best distance runners of all time, no one said he was THE best.
This board is far too critical. Ryan is a brave runner who puts it on the line and when all cylinders are clicking, he will pop quite an effort and then the naysayers will go into hiding.
His solo effort at the Trials in 07' was an amazing feat and some great front running. The way he ran that race during the second half, on that rolling course was classic. If he had any real competition on that day, foreign or not, he would have run even faster.
How quickly we forget.
Sorry pert, I don't recall seeing you during any of the Boston coverage with my buddy Ryan. Did you miss the start? You're right, that 2:08:41 is quite the subpar performance. Maybe you could train him, you know, with your extensive background and all....confused?

No. If they had said "greatest AMERICAN runners" your arguement my hold water. Regardless of his age he is not one of the greatest marathoners ever. Maybe he will get there but he is not there yet.
Good luck Ryan!
He IS one of the greatest, NOT the greatest. Any runner within 2 minutes and 18 seconds of Haile's BEST effort makes one what, mediocre? Average? Just okay? Jolly good? You chose to put a negative outlook on his 2:06 because you have probably never reached your goals.
I would call that great, you don't have to. Just because Haile is at a level currently unmatched by anyone else doesn't mean Ryan is not a great marathoner, he is.
I stand by my statements. "greatest American runners"....no kidding? That was so obvious I didn't mention it, figuring most people already knew that. But nice diversion attempt anyways, even though it failed miserably.
You can jump on the band wagon after Boston, Ryan will forgive you.

I find this notion of calling professional marathoners "soft" laughable. If they were soft, do you think they would be doing marathons and marathon training year after year for a living?
With the same logic, why don't you bust out a 2:06? What's the matter? Too soft?
Hall is soft. He refuses to go with surges that differ from his predetermined pace by more than one second, and has not won a single race against elite competition at the world leve. Time trialer. Soft.
Oh, and learn to use the quote function.
You guys are nothing but bozo's.
1) He doesn't run Chicago because he felt unprepared. You guys beat up on him.
2) If he ran and didn't run up to your standards, you'd still beat up on him.
3) If he doesn't run a 2011 spring marathon, you'd continue to beat up on him.
4) He announces he'll run Boston, and you still beat on him.
5) He didn't have his best race but still solidly breaks 2:09 at Boston, and you beat up on him.
6) He shares his beliefs, which you don't have to believe or even read for that matter, and you beat up on him.
7) None of you would have the guts to say your spineless comments to Ryan's face if you ever met him, but you cowardly rip the guy apart on a messageboard to make yourself feel better.
8) WHAT A BUNCH OF PANSIE LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9) Go Ryan!
well said

First of all, the plural of bozo is bozos, not bozo's. Many informative articles on the correct use of apostrophes are available on the web. Anyway, the reason people beat up on Ryan is because he's annoying. Some people just are. So you are correct - it doesn't matter what he does, people will beat up on him - ever wondered why? Why don't people beat up on Ritz so much? Answer - he's not annoying
