If you can break 5 in weather like that...Hell, the next one in good weather should be like 4:39!

Yea man, I would suspect that today was about a 4.40 effort. And judging by my latest performances, no one can call BS on that!
4.58.97
Have two points of observation. #1) What's the deal with "word on the street"? Is this Joe's buddy getting the lowdown before us and breaking the news in an early addition? I don't get it. Not that it matters, I was just curious.
#2) My own run today brought up some major concerns. No, I don't run 140 miles a week nor do I try to close with a sub-5 everyday. I run 70-80 miles a week and close in 6:30 or whatever I feel like. My point is this: Today I felt like ABSOLUTE garbage and struggled to make my legs turn over the last 3 miles, which I discovered when finishing I had run with an average of 6:40. I came on here to discover Joe had similar problems. Props to you for coming out on top, dude. I definately would've run a 5:10, gone back inside to lick my wounds/eat a pb sandwich, then retried the effort at 10 pm with proper warmup. Haha. You're a bawler. Baller? Yea, that thing.
It's getting late in the afternoon.
Is Joe Mac update?!
Joe Mac didn't run today... he was too busy getting off on his internet fame.
Haha nice man. 3 weeks down. About another 11 weeks more?
I'm really hoping for a breakthrough mile this week.
Listen, I don't want to tell you how to live your life or deal with your 15 minutes of Letsrun fame, but you might want to consider mixing it up some day soon. Maybe you do your whole run and end with a 5:03...then have to decide how to proceed. I feel like these people have lost their interest.
At least run a race and PR by like 40 seconds so we know this is the new trend to replace minimalism. Wait, an average "joe" can't run sub-5's so easily. :)

Thereeeee it is.
yeah... some sort of twist... maybe have a "reunion" run where you family comes to greet you at the end. Or a "retro" one where you dress up like pre or rono or maybe steve scott!
can't let the ratings drop!

Joe,
Please don't feel attacked this is just advice from one man to another. I would suggest eliminating the foul language in both your writing and everyday life. Grown men shouldn't curse. Foul language is a learned bad habit that you can change. You are embarrassing yourself by speaking and writing this way.
"Today my friend told me to stop saying bro. I told him to chill. MLIB."
you are doing a fantastic job on your "quest".
My only negative comment is: cut the shit out on your "I am just a blue collar runner" blah blah. You are EXTREMELY talented, you just don't know it or care to admit. So, so very few runners, even in the elite circles, can roll through 120 mile weeks injury free and feeling great. It's not just willpower, but a gift to be able to handle that. Be thankful. And busting out a sub 5 min mile at the end of all these days shows some real talent too. Are you as talented as Solinsky or Bekele? Of course not. But you are very talented. To pretend you are not seems like you are acting like anyone could do what you do if they just tried, or it could also be construed as saying: if I was ACTUALLY talented, with all the hard work I put in, I'd be a gold medalist!
Just get over that nonsense. You are a very talented runner who works hard. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ha ha dressing like Dave Wottle would be awesome!
Good Post, and I agree that I am not talentless, I am extremely talented in my durability. However, I do believe that I am a blue collar runner, I am certainly not high or low class compared to runners, I am average. There are a ton of high school kids that would kill me in a race, let alone, college, semi pros, and pros. I am an average runner, and this is certainly not an easy task for me. There are days when I feel great and my talent and enjoyment does show--Yesterday: 4.41. And there are days where I don't feel like running a step--Today for instance. It is truly dark and daunting to think I have 77 days left of this!
Thanks for the support
Ease off on this 4:3# talk until you get one month in the bag, my good man. I haven't bought into the new "100 days" plot change yet. My hopes and dreams are still focused on One Month. I'll be damned if I let you screw this up on me!
Don't start going crazy this week before you reach your initial goal. DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID!!
