So rumor mill has the NCAA NOT allowing Oregon/Oregon not agreeing to host the meet next year. What is going on? Is it confirmed it is at Indiana State (again)?

Oregon wanted to host it at Portland Meadows horse race track, where wagering happens on occasion. The NCAA doesn't like betting, even if none would be happening during the national meet.

My sources tell me Portland Meadows has been sold and the stucture that will be built there is not conducive for a cross country meet.
The NCAA coaches objected to it since it would give UO a competitive advantage. The locality was challenged since Portland is 90 miles from Eugene. UP would not agree to host nor co-host since UO is competition. So UO effs the entire NCAA D1 XC community and throws everyone who reserved hotels and side/family vacations into a tailspins.
Thanks Mike Reilly you Asshole wrote:

The NCAA never should have given ANYONE the nod on a race that was to be held at Portland Meadows. Keep the meet at Terre Haute until someone has a better facility that has proven they can put on a meet of that caliber.
The ONLY issue was the gambling issue. NCAA doesn't want the event held at a gambling site and the University of Oregon didn't come up with an acceptable alternative site, so the event probably ends up back at Terre Haute. Agree or don't agree, but don't blame Oregon, don't blame the NCAA...it is merely a philosophic (moral) issue about gambling.
UO T&F proposed Portland Meadows but the State of Oregon regulates Horse Racing with an iron fist. The State cannot allow the security of the stables and grounds to be compromised during racing season. States in general are wary of organized crime and absolutely cannot allow the grounds to be violated during racing season by non-Horse Racing associated people when horses are IN the stables. UO T&F really blew it by not checking with the state officials beforehand, trusting Nike money to convince state bureaucrats. UO T&F really showed what a bunch of amateurs they are and screwed thousands of fans, parents, coaches, student-athletes, media, and officials who already bought their airline tickets and discount non-refundable advanced hotel rooms. What a bunch of weenies in that pisshole town of Eugene, Oregon.

Idiot much?
Yeah, UO the same amateurs that have hosted and sold out 4 Oly Trials, numerous National Championships, and has a Diamond League meet.
Your immature little tirade makes no sense.
Let's wait until all the details before you get your panties all pooped in.
Besides, who really cares about XC???
BFD. That little pukee stadium next to a cemetery only holds 20k. High School football games in the South get 20k fans for regular season games. Sacramento 2004 OTs sold more tickets than pee hole town OR did.
That's a real crying shame. Thousands of cross country fans now holding tickets and hotel rooms to a venue which is 2000 miles from the 2011 NCAA D-I XC race. I sure hope Vin Lanana becomes CEO os USATF so he can take Mike Reilly with him. We don't need that kind of white shirted retard in Eugene.
You cant blame Oregon for people buying tickets there already. I never saw it posted anywhere that they were officially hosting the meet in the first place. Maybe do a little research before you buy tickets next time, or don't be so cheap and make sure the host has been officially announced...
Thanks Vin. You just pissed on the few XC fans our sport has. I'm sure Eunuch Phil is pleased.
Madison, WI Badgers won in 85 when it was in Milwaukee.
This goes back to Holly Sheilley wanting to move the championship around. Her job was to grab NCAA Championship bids for Louisville, her platform was to move the championships to Louisville, now she works for the NCAA as a Champs admin.
Don't blame Oregon for bidding.

Oregon has been listed as the host site for over a year. You would be the same guy that would rip on people for complaining that they couldn't find a place to stay because they waited too long to reserve a room.
So Terre Haute it is?

I have trouble believing that "thousands" of fans have purchased their plane tickets and hotels 11 months in advance.

You are an idiot. It was because of the gambling issue I though that was made fairly clear when it was annouced. Try not being so obvious about your hatred of Nike and anything remotley related to the UofO.
It's very possible that I am out of the loop, but I have never seen anything except that the NCAA DI XC Championship will be held in Louisville in 2011 and Terre Haute in 2012. I "heard" Oregon, but never saw it printed anywhere.
actually it's in Louisville in 2012 and at ISU again in 2013
