Ryan is going to keep his place in Mammoth (at least for now - he still loves the summers there and won't sell in this market) and buy a condo somewhere else for winter training. They haven't decided for sure where yet, but AZ is on the short list. Coach is still up in the air with one front runner. Nike/AlSal not even a thought.
hall going to go with mcmillan I hear

I suggest he use workouts from Runners World aswell.
I'm thinking he will end up in Big Bear. Still good altitude training with a milder climate and less snow (with La Nina this year possibly very little snow). Oregon probably won't happen because those groups are all Nike and Ryan and his wife Sara are signed to Asics. I look for him to sign on with Irv Ray as coach who helped him through high school and now coaches his brother at UC Riverside.
did hall run under vin at stanford? i think vin was still there then. . . if so, that may be a good fit (maybe). vin coached bob kempainen (sp?), the 96 trials champ, 2:08ish at boston. he's obviously had a lot of success with mid distance collegiates lately, but he also coached the best marathoner in the country in the 90s

You forgot Marshall Burt.
Very nice . . .
McMillan would be a good choice as most of the coaches mentioned would want nothing to do with Ryan. McMillan on the other hand is a good BS'er. He will do his best to convince Hall that he will have him running 2:04 (much like his sub 2:10 crew in Chicago).
what about park city, ut?
I'm going to guess the Bay Area Track Club.
Daniels already coaches some of those marathoners and they have some shorter distance people for the Ms. Hall. So this would be a good fit for Daniels, but they also have Cook and some others working with their people, and he could use whatever coach he wanted there. Close enough to altitude when he needs it. Low enough to do speed work.
(I like the arizona suggestion as well)

As his buddy Josh Cox (who is soon to be a father)
Hey, does this mean Cox FINALLY lost his virginity? Or is he adopting?
His decision should be broadcast live like LeBron. Then when he announces that he will be "taking his talents to Eugene" to join Webb and Ritz we can all collectively groan.
Love this, except, like the LeBron decision, I would be super pysched!

Agent says no hard feelings, yet Rojo amd Wejo insist on this sensational headline, which they know is inflamatory.
Ryan Hall Dumps Terrence Mahon & Mammoth Track Club
DUMPS is a clear connotation, come on now, he left, that's the way it goes.
I didn't do the headline, but I read it this morning, thought about it for a second and decided not to change it.
Amicable or not Ryan is saying "Mammoth and Terrence I can do better without you."
If Jerry Jones decides to not renew the contract of Wade Phillips and someone says, Jerry dumps Wade Phillips I don't think anyone would have much problem with it.
If Serena Williams parts way with her coach and people said she dumped her coach I don't think most of us would have a problem with it.
This is big news in the running world.
Nice to see these direct responses lately, even if I totally disagree. Respect for standing up for your opinions.
Don't forget Daniels...
Brad Hudson has already proven that he is mobile and willing to follow an athlete. I would love the irony of Brad who coached Dathan past Hall in Beijing, to take over Hall. However, I think that Hall would prefer a coach from afar. So he should just hire woever he thinks would do the best job. In the US it would have to be Daniels or Hansons when it comes to the marathon. However, I think that he should look globally and hire a Japanese coach.

If you're a great European basketball player, eventually you're going to have to come to the US if you want to elevate your game to the pinnacle. I rememeber reading Toni Kukoc saying that his gf did not want him to come to the NBA; he had it all in Europe. But he said he wanted to find out if he was really a world-class basketball player, so he went to the NBA.
If you're a great US runner, why not go to Africa?
Josh Cox #fail
he came back a whole lot faster than he left
I'm not a coach but i'm also crazy about Jesus and i will have plenty of time soon.
This guy is sickeningly in your face religious. So cheesy, so mealy minded. He's an incredible athlete, but a poor thinker. His website has some reference to his religion on almost every single page. Time for him to learn some critical thinking skills. Maybe it would pull him out of his slump.
