Based on Hall's previous marathon's (except London 07') I don't think he could have had the balls, even at 100% fitness, to go with Kebede at the breakaway. He would have just sat back thinking "no, this is my pace."
What do you guys think?

Not sure about the balls...but he wouldn't have made podium
1) he has no balls
2) no podium
As long as he has a watch on that he is looking at every 30 seconds he will never be able to get a good place finish. He needs to learn to run for place, and a good time will come with it. Time wont necessarily mean a good place.
He should wear his balls on his wrist instead of the watch.

lol
What is the letsrun definition of balls? It's back and forth with everyone.
People think Webb's move in 2005 was retarded, but Galen Rupp running with the Lead Pack at WC 2009 was a balls thing, Ryan Halls front running at Boston both years was retarded, but yay Puskedra's chase after Chelenga was balls? What the hell do you guys think balls means? Is it just front running, is it random surges, is it just chasing after something you know you'll never win ever? It's so inconsistent on letsrun what people are happy with and what they aren't.
I bet all the lovers of Michael Wardian on the other thread think he "had balls" for leading the Olympic Trials in 2008. Did Ritz have balls chasing Haile Geb in Great North? Make up your damn mind.

Did any of the above posters say anything to suggest that they have minds to make up?
Hall is done. One to many marathons , training should be altered as he does more of the same. TM has not had a full cycle of elites to understand a career span , this is his first elite crew , Deena and Hall are at the backsides of their careers , things have to change or they become the athlete we feel sorry for.
Given the average of mens elites and the ability to race in later stages its a new era.

EDL wins the debate. This thread is over.
Everyone in the elite field on a major marathon has "balls." When runner A can't maintain the same pace as runner B, that is because runner B is a better runner, is having a better day, or both.
what if you had balls wrote:

Balls are not that important for competing well.
the guy that started this thread originally is a jackass
how many marathons does kebede have since 2008?
I know he struggled to a 1:04:xx half a couple weeks ago, and they went through half in 1:02:35 today. He did the right thing by saving it for the next time.
Wardian would've.
Vigil.
Hell no. He didn't feel he was in shape, so there's NO WAY he was beating the Boston Marathon record holder.
hwell no
