But neither will win. Defending champ Liliya Shobukhova, who ran the final 2.2k stretch in 6:36, will retain her title.

Miketenko is in the race plus that ethiopian girl. Both will break 2:20 with the weather being perfect.
look for Brian Ball from california to go about 2:15. He ran 48:36 at the USATF 10 Mile champs a few weeks ago, and has been training with some top guys in Mammoth recently.
Arciniaga for the top American.
John Ricardi...great steeple chaser from idaho state making his marathon debut...could be as low as 2:15...i'll take Fasil as top american...really hoping for a sub 2:10 out of an american
I'm picking Tera Moody to go under 2:30 and to be the top American. On the men's side Nick Arciniaga will likely be the top American, but I expect a big PR from Rizzo.
For the Hanson's men i'll pick Luke Humphrey. From everything i've seen recently he's ready to rock a marathon, probably right around 2:11. Arciniaga *sp?* should be right up there, i say low 2:10.
I just can't bet on Carney, his marathon performances have been less than stellar; it seems his sweet spot is somewhere between the 10k & half. His 1/2 Marathon PR points to a possible 2:10 or lower, but he's never even come close to that. I'd love to see him bust out a 2:12 or so, but i just can't see it.
I got my homeboy Josh Spiker with the sub 2:00 tempo run.
It will be won in 2:04:50. Hartmann will be the first American in a breakthrough performance at 2:08;55.
Lewy will get a 2:22:20 and be the first American woman.
I am sure of this. It is not possible that the outcome will be different.
Bizuneh or Carney
You might be right. I always have the feeling she's up to no good. Probably because her name sounds like all the 1500 dopers.

Justin Young will be first american.
No Love for Morgan? Well then, don't for get about Mike. Hansons stud in the Post-Brian Sell era. Ready to run 2:12 or faster. Get some Mike! I say he is top three American and runs 2:11 and will surprise all the Lets Runners' out there.
I want to see the Hanson runners actually go for it. None of this conservative, come from behind crap. The world's best go for it.
What sense does that make? Run over your head for 30K and blow up? BTW, lots of the World's Best do that too. Run too fast and drop out or just blow up. The Hansons guys let it lose the last 5k not the first. It seems like a better way to run a PR in the marathon...and some of those guys are only a few PRs away from being among the best.
Chris Chavez and Armen Vartanian from the bay area. Look for great performances from these two.
watch out for Justin Young!
new coach, new training method=new personal best by Justin
His 2:15 plus was from almost 3 years ago!!!!!! Was there some secret training going on to propel him to suddenly run 3 plus minutes faster, seriously? I wish he would run 2:10, but I don't see it happening, therefore no surprise for this Lets Runner, but good luck Mike!
I predict all 3 of your predictions will be proven to be wrong. Hartmann, 2:08:55? What are you smoking? He will suddenly drop 3:14 seconds after a pr and the race of his life. Please explain.
Desi, Magda 1-2 for the women.
Three men under 2:15 and ten men going to new training groups in the next six months.
Mike Sayenko of Bellevue, WA, will win it all. Angel came down out of the clouds last week while I was running laps around DT Bellevue park, and tipped me.
