Webb all the way. Believe the hype, Webb is back.
Sentimental favorite, ftw, Mr. Alan Webb.
Great way to cap off his comeback mini-season.
In fact it has all been focused on this.
He's won it before, and he knows how to win.
Amine Laalou has to be the favorite based on this year's performances. He looked very good at the Continental Cup, and that had Manzano in it. Lagat has the strength and the experience, and it's always hard to be against him in an unpaced race. Manzano, on the other hand, has a huge kick and congestion shouldn't be a problem on a road course like it often is on the track. Webb and Willis are dark horses, but they're probably fresher than everyone else, which could make up for a deficit in fitness. Right now, I'm leaning towards:
1. Lagat 2. Laalou 3. Manzano 4. Willis 5. Webb
Tim Bayley!
1 - Willis
2 - Lagat
3 - Manzano
4 - Webb
What is all this "believe the hype" stuff about Webb. Willis was injured and had surgery and started racing again at about the same time as Webb and Webb hasn't come close to beating him in anything.

Lagat... Haron Lagat, will improve on his 3:52 from last year and win.
Haron Lagat ran 3:53.8 (still fast)
Baddeley, to defend his title
Manzano could actually win
Lagat
Laalou
Manzano
Willis
Webb
Laalou looooooves getting second places. i feel like he got second in every diamond league race this summer and then finally won at the continental cup

This is true. But fans of Alan Webb, myself included, have always been mystified by his potential upside. Willis seems to be the better competitor in big races thus far in their careers, which is really what counts at the end of the day. But I think Webb has potential to run significantly faster than Willis at pretty much any distance and those of us on the bandwagon are just waiting for him to unleash when it really counts. You know, finally put it all together. The unbiased realists might say this is unlikely, and perhaps they have good reason for that opinion. But the rest of us still believe in the Webb.
Believe the hype has nothing to with Willis, Coe, Jurek, or any other runner. It is all about Webb.
All Webb, all the time. Webb is back.

gotta put webb in the top 3. he was not that far behind willis in their last 1500 and finished full of run. either way webb runs around 3:50-3:51, if that gets him the win great, if not he heads into the off season with a very solid couple races under his belt.
Willis
Big white boys love a long straight race. Can stride long and hard the whole way. Willis coming into form FAST. Laalou will just be here for the money at the end of his season.
webb 3:42 WR

You know Haron? I know Haron, Go Haron! The other Lagat.
Manzano. He seems to do well after a good rest.
Too bad the Wheating bandwagon won't be in town, or else I would have jumped on that.
Sarah Hall for the women. Not for any logical reason. Just because nobody else picked her.
