I know cable is a luxury, and I am not particularly wealthy. But this month my bill came back at $160, which includes TV and internet service.
Is there an alternative worth looking into? Am I stuck with Comcast and these prices? I'd hate to have to cut my cable completely.
Yes - comcast is ripping you off.
Yes - yes there are plenty of alternatives
No - you are not stuck with cable
Yes - you have a bad attitude, why would you "hate to have to" cut of the cable completely? Are you in love, or hynotized? It's only a cable company, that is screwing you, nothing else.
I've not ever had cable, in fact I've never purchased a tv. I got an antenna a neighbor was tossing away twenty years ago and put that on the chimney on the roof. Later I added an amplifier that got better coverage. Eventually the antenna fell apart so I got a new one on sale at RS for $35, and a new amplifier as the one was was going kapoot. When the transition came out, I got two comverters for a total of $1.
This has all served me quite well, though I rarely watch any tv. If you go this route I highly recommended getting a better amplifier than the RS models, the prices are about the same. Good antennas can be found anywhere. I got 19 stations before the transition, and 13-19 now, I've not bothered to check. That is plenty.
The internet is much better than tv. Or just do something else. Get a life.
