Glad to hear it was a full mile.
Glad to hear it was a full mile.
his coach says he has asthma or allergies and that's why he bombed two years in a row at Pre. Maybe that's what happened at Monaco as well. very nice job here. Why were the pacers so slow? Three 3:29 guys and a 3:31 guy running 3:50-2?? What about that reputed 1.08x? 3:30 would give 3:46.8 and only Webb has run that since El G.
looks like this workout paid off
Yes I've heard that he has allergy problems which killed him at Pre. But he does blow up in some races too.
But so glad to see this! He's a great guy and now faster than Ryun? Amazing...

Yeah he's like the guys before drugs like Herb Elliot and Peter Snell, who would constantly swing between winning easily and DFL.
Yeah, you're right man, Herb Elliott NEVER lost a mile or 1500 race. He set the world record in the 1500 in the Olympic final and won by 2.8 seconds, beating future world record holder Michel Jazy. In 1958 he was the world record holder at 1500 meters and had the four fastest 1500 meter races ever. He took 2.7 seconds off the mile world record. He retired at 25. Dude was the El Guerrouj of the late 50s/early 60s.

Please say you are not that clueless.
PLEASE.

And don't forget Gregson--for a 20 year old, 3:52 is a pretty ridiculous talent!
People aren't forgetting him. Since he's run 3:31.06 already, it's not a big race for him, but a solid performance.

You mean the undefeated Elliot?

The enigmatic Manzano strikes again.
A bomb at Pre and Monaco but two 3:33's, two 1:45's and this 3:50 plus a second at USATF.
Pretty big hitters he beat in this race.
.
I think he had one real stinker last year and two this year -- but for the most part runs his butt off and keeps getting better
That's the bottom line for me. He keeps getting better.
His seasonal bests keep improving.
He has consistently made US teams.
Making the semis at the Olympics in 2008 was a step up.
Making the finals at Worlds in 2009 was a set up.
His list of top performances this year are a big jump up and there are still some big races to go this year.
He may get invited to Zurich and/or Rieti.
I want to see how this season closes out.
????

What do drugs have to do with it?
Surprise you know who dick gregory is.

US runners across all distances are fast all of the sudden.
Sub 3:50 before the summer is out I agree. I think he has a good 800 as well in him. Might be fun to see a 3k.
You people are terrible at recognizing sarcasm
Maybe all of a sudden to you two, but I don't know where you been the last few years...
