As several posters mentioned, falling 4000 meters into an all out 5k and starting at the beginning of the race are not even close to the same thing. You'd have to have no experience at all with running and have 2 brain cells left to come up with that analogy.

You are right, falling 4000m into a race and starting a race are not the same thing, your muscles might be fatigued but you are completely warmed up, as opposed to starting a race where you are warmed up but not as hot as you would be while racing. The point is, getting up and running after falling does not cause physical injury (mikey's claim), mostly psychological.
Oh yea, I did not run 25 min. for 8k, more like 23:20 for 5 miles.
