Is Patrick Muturi a US citizen now?
Boy, I sure hope those NOP guys start running well soon. None of them are improving since they left their respective programs over a year ago... Dave Davis should go back to Eugene and start training with 'dirt' again, Chad should get back on the high mileage program at Hanson's and Phillimon is too old and just runs for the money. Dan Browne has only run well because he's just so tough.
Yes, Muturi's a U.S. citizen now. He's in the WCAP program, training in Boulder under Barrios.
Congratulations to the training groups.
Top 10
3 guys from NOP
2 guys from Hansons
1 guy from WCAP
It seems like the idea of group training is beginning to pay off. One of the deepest mens 10k american fields ever. 11 guys under 29 minutes. Maybe the idea of accepting some lousy shoe contract and trying to work out with your old coach is no longer good enough. Either find a group or step aside you are about to become another athletes steam rolled by the group.
I am not convinced. You forgot to mention that the Farm Team had 0 in top 10 or under 29:00. With frick and 2:09 Graff. Plus a few other Nike pretenders.
Are you kidding me? Kyle Baker is going to road whore the potential he has into the ground. This guy has run at least 25-30 races since track from the mile to the marathon. I give him total props for making the jump this year, but I'm begging this guy to stop the insanity and take some time off.
Kyle is learning and has made sick improvements this year. I give him mad props. He thought that this race might be too close to his Marathon Debut but he is still learning. Why hate?
I'm not hating chief, I'm just stating a fact. You don't see Clint V. out whoring himself for a few bucks. The fact is he got 20th and lost to alot of guys who shouldn't hold him jock. What's the point?
The point is that he is learning his limits. Kyle is self coached and needs to learn these things. Clint has probably the best direction out there (the hansons) that are making these decisions for him. Just because your boy Verran made a smarter decision doesn't mean that Kyle made a bad one. I agree that it appears to be a poor decision afterwards, but he needed to learn that himself.
How about Rocket Rod? Getting himself back in kickin shape.
When did this Dave Davis guy start running so fast??? I remember seeing him really high in both the short course and long course last XC Nationals, but before that I don't remember anything about him? Where did he go to school? Did he just all of a sudden come on?
I don't know everything about track so I might have missed something.....
'99 NAIA XC champ at UPS.
I don't know about you guys, but I think these results really stink compared to the early 80s. I bet Ryan KP wouldn't even have made the traveling squad for GBTC or the Lowell Road Runners. Hodgie, Malmo what's wrong with these guys?
