Just last night, I was dreaming I saw that “F@$king Official” who stepped in front of German at the Big 12 Indoor meet, hanging from a rope - “Oklahoma Style” if you know what I mean! The dude just gets himself back in the game only to have this fat “idiot-ass-saurus” ruin his flow! Anyway, this is great news!!! We’ll just have to wait and see what he can do. Just staying healthy is really going to be his greatest competition this season. Look at what Jager and Derrick have gone through this past year and have had to put up with! No matter what your level of talent is, sometimes it’s just not in the cards but you can never give up and you must be really, really, really be determined to make those critical and intelligent choices that make or break your future. Also, I think we should all have a little more faith in Dave Smith and his ability to coach and genuinely care about all of the athletes under his wing. In just a few short years, he has taken the tiny OSU squad to the top and beaten the “Duck Distance Machine”! No small task! And no disrespect to “Vegans” either, but that kind of diet, is just not going to cut it! Both Gebrselassie and Bekele eat meat in reasonable amounts, so there’s your standard! Anything else, is just foolishly playing around with nature. And as far as his “anemia” goes, a person’s “RPI” is incredibly hard to calculate and diagnose, no mater who your doctor might be. Getting these things sorted out and what to do for it, simply takes a lot of time. Everyone knows, that a happy and healthy Fernandez is going to be incredibly hard to beat and hopefully he will be just that, when the cross season starts this next month!
