I thought this was the race Sergio Sanchez was gonna go sub-27. where did that little birdie fly off too?
Mo by 80m.
I fully agree with yyy. In my opinion, the first 5000m will be very slow, and after half distance the 2 Britons start to increase the pace. Mo can finish with a fast progression in the last 4-3 laps, and Thompson can try to stay with him longer possible. For the bronze, I think Castillejo can be the best, ahead the French Miftah.
Of course, Mo has the problem to save energy for 5000m, too, and the same for Thompson. In 5000m the Spanish are more aggressive, ready for different solutions : Sanchez (if improved the shape after National Champs) is good both on the pace and in the final sprint, Bezabeh is able to maintain a very high speed, Espana has a terrible kick in case of tactical race. Therefore, if Mo wants to try to win both the events (20 years after Antibo), needs to save energy in the race of this night.

Watching it live on Eurosport here in Germany. 2:24 at the 800m
UK guys doing all the work at 7200m
Farah sitting in second comfortably
27:27 with one lap and farah makes a move at 300m to go
28:24 easy win for farah in his first 10k championship
Nice kick, Mo - if all that tactical stuff with a few laps to go was about getting Thompson in for silver, he deserves extra plaudits for that, as well.
(Did Thompson get silver? It was close.)
yes. Thompson was second.
haven't seen results yet, boy he really should have leaned! He looks like he's got it though. 57 for Mo, looked great. What happened to the spanish guy? He pretty much gave up after 9900m--didn't even medal!
