I doubt his last 100 'kick' will be faster than the leaders clock.
Have you seen Wheating race? Even at PRE and Paris I think only the winners (if even them) ran raster the last 100 than Wheating.

He'll run a smart race and put himself in good position to use his kick and size. I peg him at 3:33 low.
Remember that he elso just PRed with a 1:44.6
If Manzano can run 3:33, Wheating can run 3:32.

His mile PR is: 3:51.74
that equates to roughly a 3:33.7
That makes Webb's mile worth 3:28.47. And every other American miler has underperformed in the 1500 as well.
No, Webb's time is worth 3:29.58.
His 3:51.74 converts to 3:34.5 with the standard 1.08 conversion.
I'd put the over/under at 3:34.0
Bad pacing or effort by the field would make it hard to go under 3:34.

This is a quality field and lagat said he ran 3:27 a few times here right?
I gotta think this race goes close to 3:30-3:31 and I can't see Wheating being 3 or more seconds back.
He'll spot the winner 15 meters or so bye the 1200 and finish perhaps a little closer. 3:32.37
He'll talk about how he could have run faster and made a run at the win, and I'll believe him. Next summer hopefully that's just what he'll do.
Sidenote, remember leading up to PRE how there were some jokers saying Wheating didn't deserve to be in it, and then afterwards they were trying to build a case of why he still didn't deserve to be in it based on his finish, and that he wouldn't get into any top races in Europe? You gotta love the blind hatred knowledge on this sight!
5th place at PRE 3:51 - DIAMOND LEAGUE
4th place at Paris 1:44.62 - DIAMOND LEAGUE
1500 in Monaco today - DIAMOND LEAGUE
Gregson will beat Wheating. Nuff said. You may all slay me if Wheating beats Gregson.
It wont happen

Hey man, best of luck to Gregson, seriously. I think Gregson will need the race of his career and something that makes his other PR's look silly to do it, but good on him if he does.
He's a heckuva runner and he's still young. Hopefully both are in the finals next summer in Daegu.

No, Webb's 3:46.91 is worth 3:30.10, using the standard conversion of dividing by 1.08.
I think he just ran 3:31 ....very impressed
3:30.2!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:30.9 actually.
Someone's just been overtaken...

Well Gregson did pretty much all of what I said above! Helluva race by both! Daegu next summer!

hahahahahahaha. so what exactly does "slay" mean? cuz we all get to do it to you apparently.
Like I said, Lassiter ran 3:33 right out of college. This kid aint no Lassiter... he is way better. I thought he would run 3:32 flat... so a second faster. To get under 3:30 is to be in very elite company... and he is almost there.
What some of us have witnessed today is the re-birth of the dominant miler. Wheating will be the El G of the 20teens starting next year.

This upcoming Monaca 1500 will be well paced (54, 1:52, 2:50 for the splits I'll bet) and AW just needs to tuck in the line and be dragged along. If he takes a chance and hangs on to the back of the lead group, no reason he can run around 3:32 (if he runs the pace above he needs a 42 last 300).
I was just a little off on the splits (54, 1:51, 2:47)for the leaders...where was Wheating mid-race?
...this equates to the following per the Purdy tables
800 1:42.80
1000 2:12.61
Mile 3:48.54
Damn fast.
Using an 8% conversion factor it converts to a 3:47.77 Mile.........
