Alex Gibby to Michigan-- now what happens at WM?

They are probably getting divorced anyway (from what I hear). I don't think it's a coincidence that he is leaving to coach halfway across the country.

Moran is heading to UVA for law school.

Both men's and women's jobs are open at William & Mary. Newberry must be heading to Michigan as well.

I have heard they are going after a big name coach (so they can afford it) and will have him coach both programs.

Now distance coaches on mens side includes Byrne, Drenth, Gary, Plaz, and Helmer. Once Gibby gets things moving, we could see 7 teams going to Nationals like 5 years ago!

Their loyalty will be manifested by crushing Gibby at Nationals if Michigan is fortunate enough to qualify.

Just thought I should get that out there early.

He's got a good thing going at UVA with the camp and the incoming class, but that is an attractive option considering that they recruit similar kids. Not every coach will be successful in that academic pressure cooker and the sauna that is Williamsburg. Funny place in that not every kid can go there, nor do they think about Bill & Mary when considering schools.

Eh W&M is not quite the pressure cooker of UM and UVA but I do agree the school has a sort of niche applicant pool. Williamsburg is not so bad after the summer and even then you should easily be able to acclimate especially if they recruit in-state kids.

While their team is very close and seemed to like their coach very much, I do not think anyone would make the transfer. Most of their proven talent is in the twilight of their eligibility.

BS UM is not on the same level as W&M, W&M is just like UVA the ivy league of the south you need the grades, sat scores extra curricular to get into W&M plus its a nice college town. Nobody with the right mind would switch from W&M to UM. granted the summers are hot and humid, but UM has worst weather, in W&M you can train in nice winter weather 9 out of 10 years
