Who is she kidding? So many have gotten away with it. Lance, Lagat, AFraud, a lot of the names. This shows how the users are a step ahead of the detection system, if a person can go 99-100% clean tests if they are dirty something is seriously wrong here and cheating is easy...And in all honesty, I don't really blame them for using it if they can be assured 99% of users won't get caught, it's a sad reality.

sure, a 3:57 isn't that amazing and only looks so good because of the poor standard at present where no one apart from a 100% Jamal can go below 3:59/high-3:58. However, you still have to be suspicious; she's put herself into a positon of scepticism she has to accept.

Give it a break. Her suspension was for taking a freaking decongestant, for crying out loud. Not steroids. Not EPO. A decongestant. I bet every last person who's ever posted on these boards, bar none, has taken decongestants.
Steroids leave tell-tale visible signs, a certain physique that Marion Jones, etc. all had while testing positive. Alminova simply doesn't have a trace of that physique. If you want to complain about a roider, look at the absurdly overblown shoulders of David Oliver. He's so juiced up, it's a joke.

I have no opinion on Alminova, but from Landis' statements, it seems like autologous blood doping has returned as the go-to cheat.
Apparently, blood doping is still undetectable, so that's what endurance athletes are going back to.

I have no idea, but the fact that CWT and maybe Donohue soon can break 4 makes me think that the notion that a runner that has the right build and actually looks fast can run a couple seconds faster. Still, she's a Russian woman which is like being a Moroccan male. That rightfully invites a lot of skepticism. A 3:57 the way she ran it is nice. However, V. Cheruiyot's last 2 races I found more impressive in the 3K/5K distance(14:27 with 61 last lap leading 1600?).

There are rarely ever tell tale physical signs for a distance runner using illegal drugs, a distance runner rarely stands to receive any gain from added bulk or excess muscle. I think you have to be suspicious of her, how many Russian distance runners were busted after their national championship? was it like a year or two ago i think. Also as a poster recently said her significant drop in PR at a later age along with her ability to recover and actually run faster in a number of races in only a few days, this all should raise eyebrows.

Honestly, the fact that Alminova was caught for an extremely common over the counter cold medication (one that even I've used, and I don't even drink soft drinks or coffee) is the one thing that actually makes me believe she's clean. If you are caught for something that most people take at some point without any idea that it is illegal in athletics (I sure didn't), it is more likely you are not messing with your samples and less likely you are using a masking agent. Honestly, Alminova only has two things against her; she's Russian and she's really fast. Admittedly, I am suspicious of everyone with these two characteristics, but...
