USA Boxing faces USOC scrutiny
USA Track & Field (USATF) will be off the hot seat and USA Boxing will be on it as the U.S. Olympic Committee's board of directors meets this weekend in Colorado Springs. USATF faced losing its status as the nation's ruling body for the largest Olympic sport unless it complied on issues ranging from accounting to anti-doping matters. The USOC membership and credentials committee will report that USATF is in compliance. That committee will recommend that USA Boxing be put on probation for a variety of issues, including too many management changes. Friday, the USOC executive committee will discuss CEO Lloyd Ward's membership at all-male Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club. Action isn't expected because the USOC doesn't want to detract from its Saturday vote on the U.S. candidate city for the 2012 Summer Olympics. ? Vicki Michaelis
