Such a list would hurt Nike. Ritz, Solinsky, Rupp, etc. would be dropped. It'll never happen.
Paula Radcliffe's WR would vanish. She looks like a man from the steroids.
So, just to clarify, Coe was clean when he set the world records for 800m and Mile, but not the 1500m?
and Johnson ran a clean 19.66 but a dirty 19.32 two months later. That list is stupid!
five of those 'clean' women's 800m runners under 1:58 to toe the line at pre this weekend, plus pierce.
mutola's got to be semenya territory

What a stupid statement

Any such list is stupid, but not as stupid as some kid posting under the name epopians, like that is some kind of hilarious joke. The reality is that thousands of Ethiopian kids could outrun most elite runners from rich countries, and many of them can't even afford a pair of shoes, never mind some sophisticated drug regime.
How can people post such stupid shit, over and over?
10.22 are you serious???
Purely baseless guesstimates (skeptical enough as is I think)...
100m - 9.93
200m - 19.69
400m - 43.86
800m - 1:41.73
1500m - 3:29.29
5000m - 12:51.95
10000m - 26:52.33
9.93 Are you serious???
You gotta be trolling too. You think Usain Bolt must be doping cuz he so much faster than the rest?
He wuz always faster than the rest, even when he was a skinny kid.
I ain't trolling, I'm just a skeptic. My gut tells me Usain Bolt is 9.58 w/ PED but would still be 9.8x without. He's the fastest man of all time clean too IMO.
Agree on MMMJ

On the women's 800m list...I think I spotted somebody down there (MM in '76) that may have actually been clean!!!

This is the best response so far.
Assuming certain individuals were on drugs based on small evidence or drop in PR is crazy.
Assuming certain athletes are clean with even less basis is crazier.
Just let the brojos put out a list.
They re-write results anyway and extended Wariner's winning streak when Merrit had a recent positive.
Didn't see them giving Thanou the Gold from marion Jones, though.
Linford Christie finished third behind Ben Johnson and was given Silver but later a had a positive. Dennis Mitchell had a similar situation.
All you are doing is giving higher awards to better cheaters.
So either let the current list stand or throw out all of the results.

Why are you skeptical? Didn't you see those races he won when he was 15 and 16? He won them by a street. Why would someone as good as him need performance enhancing drugs? All he needs to do is train hard. As long as he does that he will continue to improve.

Walter Dix isn't the fastest man of all time.
For the 5th time, Tyson Gay is volunteerly giving blood and urine for testing and storage. A guilty person has never or would never do this! 9.69 is clean for sure!! And if 9.69 is clean then take a 6'5 version of him and 9.58 is probably clean. Focus on another event!!
Did you see Marion Jones almost make the US Olympic team at age 16?
Why would someone as good as her need performance enhancing drugs?
The world records set in the Beijing Worker's Stadium are the obvious choice for ommission. How a girl could run 8:06.11 - with a 3:59 second half! - beggers belief to this day. especially when you consider that Yegerova and co. couldn't break 8:20, never mind 8:10.
Of course, Junxia was the most talented distance runner of the 90s and could've broken 30:00. 8:20 and 14:10 legitimately, but that doesn't make her performances any less suspect.
Usually people site the huge rise in fast times around the late 90s that disappeared just as suddenly as they started when the test for EPO came out. Obviously its harder to tag Geb's half marathon/marathon stuff and Bekele's stuff post EPO testing.[/quote]
The 5 and 10k records were not set in the 90's
I would take out all womens records except for the 5km
Then take out the mens sprint records.

How do you know a guilty person would never do it? NO...A PERSON WHO WAS SURE OF PASSING THE TEST, CLEAN OR GUILTY would be happy to do it. Just like I pointed out with Marion Jones' lie detector test....if you were guilty and knew it like she did, why would you volunteer to take a lie detector test? Because you knew you could pass it anyways. Besides, volunteering to have you blood frozen to be retested is meaningless since they do that anyways for all athletes now. Its like volunteering to be tested. Who cares, its gonna happen anyways.
Marion Jones passed 130 drug tests in her career. Kelli White passed 17 drug tests that she admits she was dirty during. Tim Montgomery admits to being dirty and passing over 20 tests at the time.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
