Thanks. Who are the others?
Anton, then Geoff Roes and Killian Jornet. Hal K. is 4 minutes back.

Thanks.
Thanks for this.
Kilian and Anton just came through 62 miles together. Course record under threat. It might be a battle to the end. My guess is Anton is going to grind Kilian down.
is this abel anton of spain who was world marathon champion in both 1997 and 1999 and he has a 2:07.57 marathon best, he was also a sub 4 minute miler, he has to be close to 50. wow.
The course record is going down. When Jurek set it in 2004, he hit Foresthill at 2:31pm, Anton & Kilian got there at 2:08pm. Also, this year's course is a tad bit different than the 2004 course...a little longer, I think. :)

No, Anton Krupicka
I want to see a sprint finish.
When is the next checkpoint? They hit 62 miles a long time ago. Are there any interim race updates?
I think it may not be until the river crossing at mile 78. Jurek got there at 4:59pm, so that will give us a better idea if they are still on pace. They say the real race doesn't start until after the river crossing; the last 20 miles of the course are pretty flat and really runnable if you still have the legs.

At 70.3 miles, they're still together, Anton 19 seconds behind.

Click on "By Checkpoint" for the most up-to-date stats. Next major checkpoint with updates looks like Rucky Chucky @ 78 miles.
This is getting interesting...
...that's 70.7 miles. The went through Peachstone at 3:35 PM.
aargh, 3:25 PM. Damn fat fingers.
I didn't know who Kilian was, so I just watched this interview with him from a few days ago:

Looks like he skied all winter (and was world champion in ski mountaineering) and then only starting running again 3 months ago. He's only 22 years old, and considers himself to be a mountain runner more than an ultra runner.
I know Tony, but don't know the other guy. I've read a few things about his ultrarunning on trails, but haven't seen anything about his results at standard distances. Any info?
Thanks for the updates!
I don't know anything about his results at standard distances, I guess he's mostly a mountain runner and ski mountaineer, whatever that is...I do recall reading that he has a VO2 Max of 92 though. Yikes.
