Lagat CLEARLY still has it and will continue to be a great runner. Solinsky IS the real deal, and he will hopefully continue to improve, the sky's the limit.
Superb race for both.

This is a great time for American running, we are finally starting to compete with the worlds best. And is it just me or is the gap between our elite athletes and us local racers increasing. I remember when a 16 minute 5k would get me in the top 25 in a big race now I can run 17 something and I'm winning races. Cool but sad at the same time. And to all the haters accusing every fast dude of taking drugs, chill and just accept the fact that hard work and a little talent can pay off.
run. repeat. succeed.

Where in the world is the little man Abreham Feleke Cherkose? He was an up and coming lad who seems to have gone underground.
I think the slow times in local races is an ironic effect of the increasing popularity of running. The number of races available to me on any weekend anywhere I travel is amazing. I can choose among scores. The result is dilution of the talent.
