Agreed. That's what passes for chic in the trailer park.

ew, what crappy taste. especially in the living room. the couches/chairs look like a$$!
Wow, who are you to judge taste? What's right for you might not be right for anyone else.
That's a damn nice home and a damn big home and the simple fact is it burns the hide of a few absurdly jealous introverts on this site. Most of you could only dream of having a home that nice in that nice of an area to decorate however you want.
Regarding the comments about the posters, what the hell? That is a training room, you think those guys don't have days where they don't feel like getting after it? Days when it's dark and rainy, days when your treating and injury and have no race in sight? The posters are motivation and inspiration, what is wrong with that?
This site is sometimes rampant with jealousy. Don't you understand that your lives would be so much better if you could just respect and admire others for what they accomplish and overlook the things you don't like unless it's a personal attack on you?
Good luck.
Why is it "jealousy" to think it's weird to have a poster of yourself in your house? People can do whatever they want for motivation, and other people can say that it's odd to them.
It's probably staging furniture, except the treadmills. That's why you can see the same posters in more than one room. (I've been house shopping for a while and consequently now stare too hard at house photos.

Common sense 101:
It's what would cause someone to rip on another. It's not the act of saying, it's what causes one to feel the need to say negative things about others. That is jealousy and it's so common place that people don't even recognize it.
And I don't think it was "saying it was odd" because what is really odd about it? Probably more that half of elite runners who have made a poster or banner have it hanging in their homes, so how is it odd if the majority do it? It wasn't pointed out as odd, it was pointed out as a rip on them.
o.k. i guess if you can stand the shitty weather all year long

And you live where?
Your statement is completely false...the weather only sucks from Nov-May...and even then, it ain't that bad.
Winter rarely below 20; summer rarely above 100. No hurricanes, no tornados, no big humidity problem, not much in the way of high winds. Yeah, a few minor earthquakes and the occasional volcano...
But it isn't "shitty" all year long.
$750k will get you a 1 room slaves quarters with outhouse and septic tank in RPV, Malibu, LAH, MP, Los Altos.
actually, i do have good taste. that's why i made a career of it. don't presume to think you know me.
don't get pissed because your idea of a nice living space includes a futon from kmart and some art work from bed, bath & beyond. asshole.
i wouldn't pay $739k to live in that snot town. god no. you can't go outside but for 3 months in the summer. san diego is where i'll be moving to when i can afford it.

...Priceless.
Nice driveway for some quick hill sprints.
When does the guessing game begin on what the baby will be named?
That driveway looks like you have to climb your way up it.
yeah. you have a water slide 11 months out of the year. of couse you have to wear a wet suit too.
It looks like they bought it in 05, which could have been right around the height of the market. You wonder how much they paid for it, and are they making or losing money on the home. Zillow has it about 100k less then they are asking. I don't know the Portland housing market, but if it is like the rest of the country they could be taking a hit.

now, I would certainly pay that much to use the same shower, tub, and sauna WITH Kara? Yeah, rock on. Tear it up.
High school must be out for the summer already.

You probably made a career out of it because you were excluded from options that required reading comprehension and understanding. I never said I liked what they have done or not. Personally I don't care, it's their home and not mine and it doesn't affect me either way, but that's just me.
My guess is that at this point in their lives, most of their time, energy and concern revolves around the 24 hours job of energy management and preparation for running and not snub nosed home shopping. Now they are going to have children so even better not to waste money on nicer furniture at this point since it's likely to get stained, ripped, colored on etc. very soon. I know we regret buying a lof of the stuff at Crate & Barrel, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware etc. before having our kids.
It's one thing to have a good sense of fashion or design and want to share it with people, it's another to rip on other peoples choices. That's a combination of both arrogance and jealousy which is a formula for an ugly human being.

They paid 683,300 on May 13,2005. In subsequent years the tax basis has went from 680,100 to 753,500 and back down to 743,770 and to 677,460 last year. They will prbably have to get around 720k to break even.
