Men's team standings... does anybody know where the triple jump stands?
Right now Oregon leads USC by 29.5, with the 4x400 and the triple jump still unresolved. USC has the fastest 4x4 seed, but Oregon should get some points.
At this point I'm only worried about USC winning the 4x4, sweeping the TJ or close to it, and Oregon DNFing in the 4x4.

Oregon women's 4x400 team was the "we've got this in the bag" squad... meaning the team standings, not the relay. Bunch of freshman middle distance girls, 7th place. Kind of an anti-climax but I don't blame Vin.

Oregonlive t&f blog reports the TJ is over, and though he doesn't have results, it looks like USC didn't get enough points for the 4x400 to matter. The men have wrapped up the P10 title to go along with the women who have already done so.

USC's TJers got 1, 4, 9, 15 (there were 4 of 'em, not 3) and Oregon's guy got 6th. I was a little worried about USC getting 1-3-4 or something.
Great job, Duck men and women!
It's hard not to call Eaton the MVP but I'd almost give it to AJ, because he exceeded expectations by such a wide margin. -

Nope, but my guess is 48 - 47 - 48 - 46 (plus a few tenths here and there) -
Centro was WAY back before he stepped off. McNamara was back off the lead pack too but not as far as Centro.

I have a feeling Vin told Jordan McNamera and Matt C. to step off after he finished doing a little quick math on the points.
ah, sounds reasonable. i wanted to see how Matt would have fared at 5k. -

Vin has run guys like that before, told them to basically dog it while the points are added and then pulls them. They're only there if the points don't add up right in which case he'd tell him to start reeling in the last few point spots. With a guy like centro (major 1500 threat at NCAA's and not a super strength guy) no point having him run hard for 8 or 9 laps to drop out when NCAA's is coming right up. Notice wheatings light load. The most important guys had the easiest loads this meet. Acosta was the exception but he's out to prove he's got someting right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see fleet bounce back for NCAA's. May be a little flat after the Penn relay meet mid-season. -

What makes you think that? In Duck World is Lannana the only one who can figure that the Ducks could score 0 points in the 5k and relay and still win?
You guys are geniuses. -

The triple jump results were not in when Vin had to tell guys to warm up and toe the line; also it is good mental prep for these guys for other meets, next year etc.
