I'm saying 27:04. That will set up a chase for the first sub 27 by an American later this year.

I disagree with the very fast last lap part. AlSal has a pattern of being very methodical with the training and doing one thing at a time. I think right now all he cares about is running a fast sustained pace through the whole race. Not trying to have gas in the tank for a fast closing kick.
Of course the problem with this is that the big international races tend to go sub AR pace through almost the first 5K, then someone takes off at WR pace, then Bekele and maybe a couple others go sub 60 for the last lap. But I guess Rupp will cross that bridge when he comes to it.
Anything under 27:25 or 27:20 would be an excellent debut, setting up an auspicious European campaign. Remember, no native-born American not of direct African descent has ever broken 27:20. Clearly the kid is fit if they're going through the machinations of promoting it and getting him to the right venue. I'm guessing 27:18.88, +/- 6 seconds of course allowing for the margin of error and a possible new AR, but breaking his coach's PR in any event. Yep. 27:18 and change.
whatever Rupp runs tonight will be slower than Ritz's 27:22 from last year. Ritz will go sub 27 this summer, barring injury. Rupp runs a 27:26 tonight.

I am thinking this is pretty good guess. I was thinking he would go sub 27:20 but it will be hard to go sub 27:10 without anyone else really there pushing it along or to chase at the end. My offical guess would be 27:15 with a +/- of 4 seconds. Also best of luck to the wisco guys
With the winds forecast at 7-13 mph tonight, the race will be "fast" and competitive, but no record.
Just heard the pacesetters will be looking to hit 5k in 13:37 and that blows any chance at sub 27. If they do indeed hit in 13:37 I also don't think there will be an American Record but maybe 27:17.2. Guess Rupp and Salazar don't have their sites sent on sub 27 minutes yet!
Wow....i remember the days when Todd Williams runs at the Sea Ray relays and goes 27:30 or so by himeself in the rain.
Rupp should get some nads and sack up. I'd rather see him win/compete than run fast at this point.
Is this race online?

He finished behind two Kenyans, dumbass.
26:59:99 Rupp rules!!!
Any links?!?!?
You don't think Rupp can close in 13:22 off a slow 13:37 front half? You've lost it, VIPAM.

Yeah, but each the sustained pussification of whites in the US continues, aided by the media and academia, so less and less white guys have stones.
gostanford.com, but you have to subscribe to see it. Minimum $9.95 plus canceling the subscription afterward.

Which part of "he finished behind two Kenyans" didn´t you understand?

No too mention it was nearly perfect conditions for a 10K - so to recap - it was not by himself and it was not in the rain.
I remember when Salazar ran 27:20 leading from the gun with wind and a head cold. He's gone soft.

Todd Williams ran against a field of nobodies, in the *gasp* rain of all things. Amazing. Rupp took the lead a world class field and ran under his own AR.
I predict Rupp first in 27:19. Solinsky second in 27:29.
