I was talking w/Chris about five years ago, and he said that Jerry thought his future was with the 10, since he was a strength runner who could handle the mileage. I think he ran 3:56 this year just to stall Jerry off a little longer.

I thought Solinsky ran 3:55 earlier this year, Rupp ran 3:56. It doesn't matter really; he obviously has the paces down early in the year, and on an indoor track.
if Solinsky rabbits for stanford 10k, i bet he ends up running 27:50 - 28:20 if he finishes.
if Solinsky is not a rabbit and is looking to compete for place and time, I foresee him being able to finish in the 27:30-40 range.
Solinsky's first 5k of the outdoor season in 2009 was ran in 13:18, so if he's near the same shape as he was then, and he's probably in better aerobic shape now if he's been running with Nelson and Bairu, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ran 27:20's, but I wouldn't bet on it.
some rumor that rupp will be doing 10K there as well. this is where meb set the longstanding AR.

No way, man. He's too heavy to run sub-28. That guy is HUGE!!!
Has he brought it down below 200 yet? Gawd, he is a tank!
You wouldn't be surprised if he run in the 27:20's??? I would be blown away.
ehhh now he probably won't want to go any faster than 28, maybe even 28:30
He sure looks nerdy with glasses and a sweater on in the photo on the twitter page.

Good thing for fellas like you provide a frame of reference though, and make him look like a stud.
Letsrun is a rumor mill.... but Twitter let's the pros speak for themselves. If you don't Twitter you can still read what all the top guys are tweeting at twackstar.com
Nothing like the truth from the horse's mouth!
Good for him to try different distances. Maybe his teammate Evan Jager will do that some day.
Evan has run 1,500's, and he's run the 800 this past indoor season (1:50ish).

Yeah, he set PRs from 1500 up to 5000 in 2009, then ran the 800 in indoor. I'd agree he's branched out a bit.
I think we were all blown away!
...well this is really awkward now isn't it
Definitely misunderestimated him.
