I am sure that this is going to open a big can of worms. But what criteria shall we use??? Which one qualifies the most teams to nationals??? Or which conference has the best 5,7,10 runners??? Here's my opinion of how the ranking would look for conferences: -(Maybe Getting In)
Men:
1) Big 10: Wisc, Mich, Minn, IU (MichSt)(OSU)(Iowa)
2) Big 12: Colorado, OSU, Texas (Neb)
3) Pac 10: Stanford, Oregon, AzSt (UW)
4) Big Sky: NAU, WeberSt (MtSt)
5) SEC: Arkansas, Alabama (Tenn)
6) Ivys: Dartmouth (Columbia)(Princeton)
Women:
1) Big 10: Wisc, IU, Mich, MichSt (PennSt)(NWstrn)
2) Big 12: Colorado, Missouri, Texas (TxA&M)
3) ACC: Wake, NCSt., Duke, UNC (UVa)
4) Pac 10: Stanford, AzSt, UCLA, UW,
5) Ivys: Columbia, Yale
But if we were to score the top 5 individuals from each conference it'd look like this:
Men:
1) SEC: Kimani, Cragg, Lincoln, Kiprond, Kimeli
2) Big 12: Torres, Slattery, Woolhouse, Torres, Menefee
3) Pac 10: Stanford top 5
4) Big 10: Teg, Spiker, Brannen, Toloff, Jefferson
Women:
1) ACC: Flannagan, Gill, Bierbaum, Bersagel, Price
2) Mt.West: BYU top 5
3) Big 12: Austin, Gorton, Mortimer, Gulli, Bales
4) Pac 10: Bei, Craig, Fleshman, Nilson, Elmore
