What was the deal in the 200 final? 8th place was 61 seconds. Was he hurt and just jogged?

No, you idiot, he ran all out and that was as fast as he could go! What a stupid question!
Yo, that big guy from Dickinson who was second in the Steeple and 5k. How much do you think he weighs? I would guess at least 194.

Inside sources say 170

Thanks, Clay.
In all seriousness, Karwoski came out of nowhere this season. Where did he come from?
Pretty much been injured most of his college career. Talent's always been there, just was never able to perform to maximum potential due to nagging injuries. Holla
He was a 14:40 sophomore (who didnt over exert himself) and then was abroad during his junior track season and completely bombed in XC at nationals. I think an improved work ethic this year really payed dividends.

Most impressive moment of the meet? Only had three guys and they didn't even have their top performances this weekend.
Does anyone know mile splits of the 5k? Was it tactical? Surprised times fell off so harshly after 10th.
nick k is a good guy. he took a train from dickinson with one other guy to run the 5k at a BU meet when his coach souldn;t take him. but yeah he's friggin enormous
liz lawton ran like a monster
Karwoski took it to a new level this year in track. He was a 14:40 guy and good Xc runner since soph year (top 5 at Centennials and some sub 25 clockings), but this year he was just dominant on the Conference level and dropped some amazing times. Real funny guy, too.

True that.
Anyone have videos of any of the races?

It was kind of hot and a lot of guys were doubling, plus its just a high-pressured national race where guys are shooting high and then sometimes crash pretty hard. Pace wasn't fast early on, but they weren't dogging it either. I think they came through 3k in around 8:52. Top three guys must have closed in around 4:26/7.
Also, to whoever claimed the NC guys closed in 4:22 and 4:27 in the 10k, I think that is off by 10 seconds on each, as they were more like 4:32 and 4:37. Still an impressive outing for Spain and Brady. Real smart race by Kamm in the 5 too, and Karwoski put together an impressive double.
Regarding this:

I got those splits from an article that was posted on North Central College's official website the day of the race. The article has since been edited, so you're probably correct.
What's really impressive is that it's Lawton's first outdoor National meet and she comes in and does THAT. It will be interesting to see if she can keep it up. Not sure where she's been the past 2 years, but she's obviously hitting her stride now!
It'll also be very interesting to see if Pavlus comes back from Africa as dominant as she was this past year. Still think that's an extremely odd decision to have one of the best seasons in DIII history and then not even compete at Nationals. To each their own, I guess.
I, too, was impressed with Karwoski... he definitely hung in there in both the steeple and 5K.
One more sidenote, it's always interesting to see how many people crap out when it's hot out. Both the women's and men's 5K had major contenders who just... didn't get it done in that 5K. Yes, it was hot, but that didn't stop Liz Lawton...
Heard that Lawton put in a great summer but was injured during the cross season. She must've really stepped up in the winter. Congratulations to her on a tough double.
I'm not surprised that the Dickinson coach wouldn't take Karwoski. The two battled all four years and really didn't get along very often. But that's not unusual for the Dickinson coach. He's not the easiest person to get along with. Don't get me wrong. He'll make you a good runner if you have the right genes. If not, he'll injure you.
