Hasay is no John Ngugi.
Trailing the entire race and waiting to pass on the homestretch was not the only alternative to immediately blasting in front using up all her energy.

Agree that she should have sat in a bit, then kicked from 5-600m out. This type of tactical awareness will come with experience. Hasay has run a lot of mile races, but hasn't had a lot of competitive experience in Championship tactics, where others are on the same par.

im pretty sure jordan has PR's that are comparable or better than brittanys. and whoever said that sheffey isn't a "big time' runner is wrong...shes from the NY area spent the last 6 years of her life running against the bloods of the world. she came out of hs with 4:45 credentials to her name
Hasay is light years ahead of the other slugs.

Never said she was. I was replying to the insinuation that no big time race could ever possibly be won by a hard surge early or in the middle.
If she would have won and pulled it off, the letsrun echo chamber would be praising her for her gutsy, balls to the wall effort. The truth is, only Jordan knows what was going through her head at the time. Maybe she felt her kick was suspect and wanted to put the race away early
