Did anyone notice this? I think it is very funny, and he didn't even correct himself. Where did he get this idea, considering Germany isn't even a split country anymore? How bizarre....
While i thought the announcer sounded like a nice guy.....he should be fired for not being able to get anything right at all. He called Mcneil, Kigen for like 2/3's of the race....and he was leading with his name on the shirt! He called the opening leg for Oregon, Hasay, he as you noted said Asselin was from West Germany....seriously? West Germany?? He called the pole vault the long jump (or vice versa)...and he made a huge deal about anchors running 4:06 or faster...he commented about Koll having a chance to break the 5k record....which she never did at any point in the race, he commented that Michigan was holding on in the DMR...holding on to what...2nd to last?....and i only saw less than half of the broadcast...i'm sure he screwed other stuff up MASSIVELY. You'd have done better with no one talking as all you got was wrong info...
And whoever was in charge or the results had serious issues...kept showing James in the 200 and then the real person, couldn't make up their mind. And in the womans 200 in the 2nd heat said they needed to beat 20.46. Major issues the entire time with getting the right persons name...
