Says who? Aish would say that for sure. Aish is a good guy, but he's also conceeded as hell. The true mountaineers still have faith.
From what I hear they still basically do the same training as we did back in the day. Vandenbusche could light a fire under our asses like no one else could, but Jen knows her stuff just as well if not better than V. V was a motivator, didn't know much about "running".
I'm not trying to argue that Western right now is as good as our old teams. But what I'm saying is, there is going to be an adjustment period with V leaving. The will of winning a national championship will never leave Gunnison, and as long as that is still there, the team will be outstanding.
It's hard to be as good as we were, all the time. If Adams gets second place a few years in a row, say, few years down the road, are you guys going to all jump on them and say how they're done?
This current Adams team is by far the best I've seen in D2. But we dominated too if any of you remember. You can't stay on top for too long. That is what makes Western-Adams the best rivalry in the nation, no matter what the level.
One thing I am worried about is how everyone seems to be injured....all the time. Can't win if you can't put guys on the line.
