On average, a high school xc team alone will have the highest GPA avg. compred to any other athletic team in that school.
What has become evident, is that a sport like swimming and long distance running where you need tot train year 'round, requires time-management. Therefore, students that have more time on their hands(i.e. sprinters) who do not have to train all year long tend to put things off, since they have alot of time. The long distance runner, wrestler, swimmer etc, that are expected to train all year, tend to become better students due to their need for time management

When I was in the Army an 18 yo male had to do 82 push-ups i n 2 min, 92 sit-ups in 2 min, and a 2 mile run in 11:54 for a max score of 300. I scored 296 cause I couldn't max the run.
