Is this a huge sacrifice? I'm not sure. I can't think of much else to give up. I basically live the life of a running monk.

Why not? I like rock and popular music, so not listening to it for 40 days is a sacrifice. It's more of a sacrifice than, say, giving up alcohol when I have only about 1-2 drinks a week anyway. I listen to music every day in my car both to and from work. That's about 60-90 minutes a day depending upon traffic.
Are you saying you can't listen to popular music or popular genres? Can you listen to rock songs that no one has heard of? Can you listen to experimental rock? Electronica? Post-rock? Post-punk? Acid folk rock? Not sure what you are giving up here.
This "sacrifice" is pointless, and the Catholic Church in recent years has tried to get people to shy away from such pointless sacrifices. If you are going to give up chocolate, for example, donate the money you would spend on chocolate to the poor. You could spend that 60-90 minutes strengthening your relationship with God. Listening to a different type of music is not a sacrifice.

Sorry, but I can't think of anything else to give up. I don't watch much tv. I eat nothing but healthy foods. I thought you are supposed to give up something you like to do, but don't need to live.
One year I did give up Tostito chips. I love those.

Already been there done that, many years ago. Thought I knew everything. I was very arrogant. But after a few years I realized I was less happy. Then I read 'Crime and Punishment' and it changed my life. As Fyodor D. once said, 'when man stops believing in God he'll believe in anything.'
So now I'm back practicing Catholicism again, but I made the decision on my own terms, not because of my parents, etc... And I practice my faith quietly. I have no interest in forcing my beliefs on anyone.
I believe in the Gospel. But even if someone doesn't, we know from historical records that Jesus was a real person who rebelled against 'the man' and paid the ultimate price for it. His story is pretty inspiring even if one doesn't believe in God.

This Lent, I am trying to cut meat completely out of my diet and eat more vegetables, and just overall eat healthier.
i gave up "giving up things for Lent" for Lent.
