Alright talking heads, I need an opinion.
I'm a 15-flat 5k guy (on the track) and I've been doing training for anything from 5k to 15k the last 7 weeks after a base phase. My strength is good but my speed is lagging a little bit behind right now (tempos are easy but intervals at the same ability level are tougher). I have a 10-miler on the roads that I'm racing and I would like to run an indoor 5k six days later. Assuming that I start my taper phase a week before the 10-miler, should I be fully recovered from the 10-mile race in time for the 5k assuming I stick to easy runs and strides in between?
