Female boycott against Semenya

It isn't fair for her to run against men either. She is no more male than she is female. Why should someone who is marginally male be able to compete as a man while someone who is marginally female cannot compete as a woman?

Pretty easy answer to that question: men are faster than women so their advantage is not a positive one.

He/she will actually benefit from running with men- some actual competition. He/she could run sub-1:50 with a group of guys pulling him/her

Semenya is one sad human being. Not a male, not a female. It's a terrible situation in which to find yourself, born with ambiguous parts. But if s/he wants to run against all-male runners she should be allowed, but not against slower female runners. Not fair for them. So I agree with Coach, pull your runners out of the field. Then again I can't see any RD in a big meet allowing Caster on their track regardless of what the IAAF allows.

We have a dude here on the Rock who goes by the name Jennifer. Dude is undergoing "gender reassignment" whatever the hell that is. He had his knackers removed, wears women's clothes and makeup and has man-boobs and competes in a special category in road races: NG for no gender. Seems fair as he is not quite a man, but not really a woman (yet). Dude wins his category all the time too.

Now if we could just get this cat outta the men's locker room I'd be a whole lot less freaked out by the situation.

I agree with you coach the IAAF already has the results of their tests which prove that it is a man. They are sitting on their butts instead of making as decision because they are afraid of the political backlash. This is really unfair to women who race against him. What if he sets a female world record? Are they going to ratify it while they wait for the the results?

you guys are very unresonable... by Semenya racing against the women it will be helpful for other women to run faster and for those who are too concerned of her being black you are full of yourself... remember Pamela Jelimo.. she looked manly and no one questioned her ability to run fast just because she is from kenya and kenya is the home of the fast freaks... good luck being stupid and letting racial comments cloud your head

I agree with you 100 percent. All female athletes should take a stand about this, and not compete in any track meet that he's in. I would do the same thing.

Something is wrong with the IAAF, that they have not ruled yet against him.

My solution would be to get rid of the "Men's" and "Women's" groups, and instead have two groups: "Open," in which anyone who wanted could compete, and "Women's," in which people who are definitely biological females could compete. Semenya would go in the "open" group.

But the groups aren't "fast" and "slow," or "women" and "Other;" they are "men" and "women." The reasoning behind making two separate groups doesn't determine who falls into which group, only the stated categories.

She is not a woman. She seems to be a combo. As I say this, I add it is not her fault. Unlike the countless athletes who degrade themselves with PEAs to win, she cannot be blamed for what God gave her. Are their numerous people like her? If so, how about a third division?

Caster Semenya has demonstrated the shortcomings of science in gender distinction. It is very tough for scientists, even under detailed analysis, to determine whether an individual is a man or woman, and what advantages a certain individual may have or the female gender to disqualify her from that event category.

But in order for us to truly know the sex of individuals on the track, we must carry out similar investigations for every athlete, to ensure that no individual such as Semenya is discriminated against due to race or appearance, or we must establish a system where gender is not a divisive category.

The only "fair" solution would be for us to bring equality to athletics competition, and tear down the walls between male and female competitors. This discrimination by sex in the athletic workplace is unfair and does not respect human privacy of gender.

In order to prevent further political turmoil in athletics, we must remove the gender division, and give every athlete an equal opportunity to compete on the playing field. No more gendered events. One winner, one race, one qualifying time for all athletes.

"Fair" solution has a point. If its not moral for us to have sport divisions based on physical skin differences such as color (eg negro leagues baseball), then it cannot be moral for us to have divisions based on the physical difference in skin appearance.

And if you are going to argue that its not fair to cut women's programs, then you are advocating that "separate, but equal" is a fair method of social division. And we can start creating the black track Olympics, yellow track olympics, mulatto track olympics, and white people can win the marathon again.
