I think it's hilarious. Those Vols fans deserve it, those arrogant pricks. He's taking his dad with him as well as Ed Orgeron. Kippy Brown was just hired last week as receivers coach at UT. He's been named interim head coach.

I think it's great this happened during the hot recruiting period. I can't wait to see how many de-commit. Hopefully a lot of them will follow Kiffin to USC.

I wonder if the Kiffin's are going to change their baby's name from Knox to Trojan now?

it looks like USC is going to be ready for NCAA DI-A Playoffs when Obama/Congress passes legislation this year.

As a fan of another SEC team I'm sad to see Kiffin leave the conference. I was sure if Kiffin stayed at Tennessee the Vols would suck balls for years. Now they might be good.

Since Tennessee is now a total joke maybe Mike Leach can be their new punch line!

From a Vols fan in Knoxville -- not sure why this topic is on the LetsRun boards, but I hope USC didn't pay too much for Kiffin (Lane that is!). About half Vols fans are upset and the other half don't mind seeing the guy go. He showed his personality and level of class by making a 60 second statement saying he was leaving the program better off than when he arrived. Not likely given his sudden jumping ship and poaching of recruits recruited on the UT dime. He could have said USC was his dream job, that he couldn't pass up the opportunity since it might not come open again any time soon, and that he regretted the effect this would have on the program and especially on the young men he had recruited to UT, that he made what was a difficult decision based on what was best for him and his family. But no, no regrets, no class. It'll be interesting to see where SC and UT (and Kiffin) end up 5 or so years from now.

You arrogant Tenneessee fans deserve this. You jumped on the Lane train even when he started talking shit at his first press conference. I heard so many of you clowns say it was great because he was bringing attention to your program. Well enjoy it friend. You're getting plenty of attention now! The way this will hurt your recruiting will affect UT for the next several years. You deserve it. Keep reminding yourselves that Peyton played for you. Nobody lives in the past as well as a UT fan...and Notre Dame fans.

This is fantastic, I can't stand USC and this all but assures them of slipping back into oblivion there were in prior to Carroll arriving. Kiffin is an arrogant asswipe that keeps getting jobs without any record to back up his performance. I am sure the PAC-10 coaches are rejoicing to this news.

I hate USC, so I am glad he is going there. They are going to be shi tty for a while.

Kiffin blows but his assistants, Monte, Ogeron, etc. are the very best in the country. USC will be very good...unless they are hammered hard with NCAA sanctions which do loom over their football program. Also USC is just as or more arrogant than Tennessee.

Here's a thought......let's sanction the coaches instead of the programs, if they leave. LaMe seems pretty arrogant and full of himself for a 34 yr old.....lays waste to a program and then bolts with pending sanctions at UT. My buddy is saying that he is calling newly enrolled recruits telling them not to go to class!
