The Denver Donut Mile - Noon - Jan 2nd - South High Track

Good luck with that. Dollars to, er, donuts that South is still snowed under come Saturday morning.

It is a donut mile, somehow I think the snow/ice will be the least of our concerns.....

A DONUT mile? Child, please. While the little girls eat their cute pastries, how about the men do a CHILI mile? Yup, one cup of Wendy's chili per lap.

How about an Egg Nog Mile? Seasonal and alcoholic.

I've been eating 3-4 donuts per day recently. I wish there was a donut mile here.

I can't even eat one cup of Wendy's chili without spray painting my unders, let alone 4... with running! Eff.

Howbout an eggnog mile? One was held at American River College in Sacramento last weekend. Nate Beach from Cal ran 5:05. pretty amazing. 4x 12 oz eggnog and 4 laps.

You obviously missed the Fast Food Challenge thread. This is a fun for all beginners race.

You need a "donut hole" division for children 10 and under.

I have tried to limit my posting on this site, but when I saw this I had to comment. At my Alma Mater (I am sure a few of you are reading this thread with curiosity and excitement) we did a donut mile, but ours was much different than the standard beer mile set up (donut per lap). Here is how ours were set up:

you had 15 minutes to finish a dozen (12) donuts, three of which had to be Boston Creme (more could be if you so desired), once 15 minutes was up you were to run a mile as fast as you could. Your mile time is was was counted from the time the 15 minutes was up, to the time you crossed the finish line.

A few rules:

If you threw you you were DQed, all the hard work was wasted,

If you were not finished your donzen after 15 minutes, you could continue eating but the clock on your mile will have started.

You are allowed to carry un swallowed donut in your mouth/hands on the run, however, all must be finished before you cross the finish line/your mile time ends.

That is a true donut mile (i refuse to call it a man's donut mile as a number of females have run and excelled at this event).

For point of reference, a 4.15 indoor miler ran 4.52 in the donut mile - the donut mile was considered the more impressive performance.

Sounds like the tremendous twelve challenge! You must consume two tremendous twelves (Perkins menu item consisting of 4 pancakes, 4 bacon/sausage links, 1 heap of hashed browns, and 3 eggs , plus an all-out mile.

I concur, This would be a lot better than some donut mile with a nasty jelly donut clause.

I did the same double take when I read that sentence. No WAY that could have snuck under my radar.

I apologize for misleading people hear; we had tossd around the idea in Buffalo (Tim Horton's on every block)after completing the Mighty Taco Mile on Black Friday. The addition of TH to the standard donut list was just to allow for some uniformity if others in other cities decided to run a donut mile. There aren't any Tim Horton's in Denver, unfortunately.....

But there will be a donut mile in Denver on Jan 2nd, bring your own donuts.....
