I saw the token 19 seconds on NBC the other day---a major insult, IMHO to our sport. Thank god we got to see the full 500 YARDS competition at the Millrose meet with no interruption. Maybe I can accept---well, not really--that we deserve less airtime than bull riding. My question is this---I'm assuming that, since the few seconds shown was taken from a press truck (and other cameras near the finish), someone, somewhere, somehow has the race on tape in full sitting on a shelf, ether at USATF or in the race organizers closet....how do we, as the running community, get a copy of this produced/available to us? Why isn't Ambrose Salmini with his video production company on top of this? Why isn't the rights to something that there is a market for sold to somebody, somewhere, to reproduce it? Why, just for the hell of asking, isn't RW/Running Times involved in something like this? If the tape exists, then, Y NOT?
