i've always been a believer.
It's amazing that he made the 12k team alone, but he did it the day after taking 8th in the 4k race, this guy gets the tough SOB award for the weekend.
what has happened to his speed?
the times put up this weekend at winter cross nats are really good times, let alone the fact that they were run on a couple inches of snow (?). I thought that would slow things down, I guess the course itself (hillwise) wasn't too tough.
the 2km loop was short

i'd say the tough SOB award goes to Robert Gary, who beat Webb by about 15 seconds in both races, and was arguably in the mix to win both of them
Bekele.....sorry I mean Webb.....had the 4k in his legs, and still makes this incredible performance,
sub-3.50 mile this year for sure!!
I bet he would been 2 min slower on the same course 3 years ago!
His 12K was at an 11:47 4K pace....a day after he hit 11:31. He also finished within 6 seconds of Torres and within 20 seconds of BK.
I was ready to state that his 4K was discouraging, but the guy is strong as an ox right now...which is what he wants to be at this point.
But also....What about Robert Gary???? He was easily the most impressive runner there for the weekend.
Robert Gary...stud

HAHA! You don't know how difficult and unlikely that is!
Despite my praise for Webb, I just don't know if it was smart for Raczko to put Webb in back-to-back races on a slippery course, wearing spikes....prior to racing the 2nd fast field of his life this coming weekend.
Confidence-wise, he may have needed it, but physically, I think it was a bad move.
Yeah, it will be interesting to see how Webb races @ Tyson after this tough weekend. But best of luck to him, he ran an awesome double.
Yeah I think he'll be flat for the mile in a week.
Gary's journal is posted at www.run-insight.com if you're interested. It's been up for about 2 months now, and he's been doing some great training.

If Raczko is smart he'll train him to peak for the Olympics not some indoor meet in the dead of winter.

2tonbrik,
I did not criticize Raczko's move base on being prime for next week, but because he would be performining 3 hard races within a week.
Why is that unlikley?
I'm gonna assume he'll also be on the line @ indoor nats in 2 weeks, so he's gotta tough couple of weeks lined up.
