I'm not bothering to worry about pace or workouts for the time being. Once I get up to 70 or 80 I'll start paying more attention. Should be sometime in March.

Yep, she'll be about 3.5 when the twins are born. I figure it's a good age for training purposes -- she'll be in high school when they're in junior high, so mileages and paces should match up pretty well, at least for a few years. Though the wife cautions that we're not necessarily raising a track team here, and the kids may actually not like running.
I don't completely disagree, and in that case I'm only 8 seconds off for the 3k.
And I did have an almost troubling epiphany the other day. Most of my lifetime PR's were set by age 20, and then I stopped running as seriously for about 10 years. At 40 now, I'm about as far past my ultimate potential (28-32?) as I was ahead of it when I set those PR's. I probably should be able to get back down near those times.
