Form post for most Letsrun posters.
First line: I hate to rain/piss/dump (choose) on XXXXXXX, BUT....
Second line: back when I ran a 4:26 mile/29:30 10K/2:31 marathon (choose)......
Third line: I was running 100/120/140 miles per week (choose).......
Fourth through sixth lines: Fill in some bullshit story about your best college race....
Seventh line: This guy is a pussy/loser/idiot/big mouth (choose) and has no heart/guts/balls (choose).
Between every line the reader is to assume that I am/was a friggin great runner even though I've never competed in a national class race (yet alone a world class race). I did win the YMCA 5k last week, and in a record time (2 year old event.)
Well said.
The only comments from Wejo prior to the trials revolved around him feeling fit and confident and excited about the opportunity to make the team. If he had a good day he may or may not have had a shot. He made no grand statements or predictions. He went in with a positive attitude - in his mind he knew he had the potential.
When it wasn't there he stepped off the course.
When it comes to the boards it was a no win situation. Finish in 2:30 and get bashed for a poor performance, don't finish and get bashed for [everything posted so far]. I doubt he's worried about who's bashing on the boards.
When it comes to being able to recover quickly and race another day Wejo's decision was the right one.
